“Maraming, maraming salamat sa lahat ng bumoto sa akin, lahat ng nag-effort, lahat ng nangampanya, lahat ng naniniwala sa akin, kay Coach Sarah. Sobrang thank you sa paniniwala sa akin. Thank you talaga,” he said. Dy said he actually dedicated one of his finale songs to Geronimo, adding that he would not have won “The Voice” if not for his coach.
“Sobrang thank you, coach. Thank you talaga. 'Yung kinakanta ko kanina, ‘Angels Brought Me Here,’ ikaw ang anghel na nagdala sa akin dito. Hindi ko naman talaga inisip na aabot ako sa stage na ito. Pero I’m very very thankful and humbled by this blessing and opportunity,” he said.
Jason Dy of Team Sarah was named the winner of the second season of "The Voice of the Philippines" on Sunday during the hit TV show’s grand finale at Resorts World Manila. Dy, a professional "haranista," received 52.94% of the votes to beat Alisah Bonaobra of Teap Apl as the two artists faced off for a final showdown after garnering the highest percentage of text and online votes. Before the poll for the top two artists opened, their individual scores were reset to zero.
In the end, the artist who got the higher percentage of public votes was named the winner of "The Voice of the Philippines." Team Bamboo's Rence Rapanot and Team Lea's Leah Patricio were the other two contestants in the Top 4 in the much-awaited finale of ABS-CBN’s hit talent search. Patricio and Rapanot got 19.17% and 18.02% of the votes, respectively, before scores were reset for Bonaobra and Dy.
"Thank you so much. Lord, you are amazing. Thank you. God bless po sa inyong lahat," an emotional Dy told the ecstatic crowd before doing a reprise of his Top 2 performance of "Minsan Lang Kitang Iibigin."
