Cube Entertainment agency confirmed the news, saying, “It is true that HyunaA will be releasing a new album in July. We have not yet fixed an exact date for the comeback yet, though.”
According to media reports, a reality TV show will also be aired on an unspecified channel, and will go behind the scenes of the making of the new album, as well as providing glimpses of HyunA going about here everyday routine.
The singer’s last major solo hit was the track “Ice Cream,” from the “Melting” mini album, released in 2012. She also scored a hit with “Bubble Pop,” the follow-up to her 2010 solo debut, “Change.”
She has also enjoyed recent chart success as part of musical duo Trouble Maker, who scored a hit with “Now” in November 2013. 4Minute’s most recent single was “Whatcha Doin’ Today,” released in March this year.
Hyuna has been promoting as 4minute, as Trouble Maker and as a solo, a feat that has built her position in the music industry. Indeed, what sort of concept will Hyuna be presenting in July?
Hyuna has also confirmed her upcoming reality by SBS MTV that reveals the production of Hyuna’s solo album. Through her first solo reality program, Hyuna will be presenting her daily self as opposed to her strong charisma on stage.
HyunA is perhaps the most recognizable member of K-Pop girl group 4Minute. She's equal parts cover girl and sex icon and has made a huge splash in the Korean music industry not only for her work with 4Minute, but also as a soloist and as half of sultry pop duo Troublemaker.
4minute member Hyuna will be making a mid-July comeback.
"This is an album [HyunA] has been preparing for a long time," added the rep. "She's put a lot of effort into her dancing, songs, and visuals."
HyunA originally debuted in the K-Pop scene as a member of JYP Entertainment's now disbanded Wonder Girls in 2007. However, a few months later, she dropped out of the group due to her parents' growing concerns about her health and well being.
Her first solo venture came in 2010 with the release of her first single, "Change," featuring label-mate Junhyung of the K-Pop boy band BEAST. HyunA's single "Bubble Pop," released in 2011, became her break out solo hit and currently has over 74 million views on YouTube.
