Filipinas have been sent as contestants to Mrs. Globe since 2010, but it was only in 2012 that a bet was chosen via a beauty pageant. For the first two years, candidates were just selected from previous beauty contest winners.

Last year’s Cebu bet, Jessica Candelaza-Eribal, placed third runner-up, while Mrs. Philippines Globe 2013 Ruby Jane Lehmann made it to the top 15 finalists among almost 60 countries around the world during the Mrs. Globe 2014 World Finals in Shenzhen, China.

Founded in 1996, Mrs. Globe is one of the biggest international pageants for married women with 40 countries usually participating. More than just a celebration of beauty, Mrs. Globe is a fund-raiser of The Women In Need (W.I.N.) Foundation, an outreach that specializes in self-esteem recovery for women and children faced with all kinds of abuse.

Mrs. Globe president and owner Dr. Tracy Kemble graced Saturday night’s coronation as a co-chair of the panel of judges, and earlier held an Empowerment is Sexy session for the 23 finalists.
