Since last year, various SNSD and EXO fans had suspected as such, posting on forums and fan sites images of ‘Taeyeon Baekhyun evidence.’ The ‘evidence’ includes pictures of the two SM artists together, looking at each other lovingly, the two with couple items like cell phones, bracelets, headphones, and sunglasses, and screencaps of their SNS posts, where they use cute nicknames for each other: Taenggu and Baekoong. Fans further suspected a romantic relationship between Taeyeon and Baekhyun, as the EXO member is only following Taeyeon on Instagram among all the Girls’ Generation members.
Taeyeon, 25, is three year’s Baekhyun’s senior, and is the fourth member of Girls’ Generation to have been revealed to be in a relationship.
After the news broke out, SM Entertainment confirmed today that the two idols are indeed dating.
In the published photos taken after EXO’s concert last May 26, Taeyeon and Baekhyun met in the wee hours of the morning. “They were close as senior and junior, but recently developed feelings for each other and started dating,” said SM Entertainment.
The report showed Baekhyun and Taeyeon getting into the car and driving in the outskirts of Seoul. The photos showed the two enjoying each other’s company in the car parked in a parking lot.
Baekhyun and Taeyeon reportedly began liking each other last October.
Taeyeon debuted as member of Girls’ Generation in 2007 while Baekhyun launched his career as member of EXO in 2012.
Taeyeon apologised for "hurting" her fans on Thursday, after news that she is dating fellow SM Entertainment artiste, boy band EXO’s Baekhyun came to light, reported Korean media.
“Sones (Girls’ Generation fans),I am really sorry for shocking and hurting you all, for making you experience these unnecessary emotions because I was not careful.
“I think you all will feel disappointed, angry, upset. I accept that and want to apologise,” said Taeyeon in a series of posts on Instagram.
The 25-year-old K-pop star went on to respond to criticism that she had made fools of her fans when she posted some photos on Instagram recently which appeared to be addressed to her fans, but are now seen to be secretive ‘love notes’ to Beakhyun.
“Whatever I say now will be misunderstood but I am not making excuses, I just don’t want everyone to be hurt because of me.
“A lot of people feel I purposely uploaded those photos to make fun of my fans, but that is not my intention,” said Taeyeon.
Her boyfriend Baekhyun faced similar problems, with a number of his fans expressing disappointment that some of the photos he posted now appear to be actually addressed to Taeyeon.
