A Pink’s Jung Eunji and IU Compete for The Lead Role on Trot Lovers!

A Pink’s Jung Eunji has released a statement regarding her competition with fellow singer and actress IU for the lead role in KBS 2TV’s new drama “Trot Lovers.” In response to comparisons between the two, Eunji said “IU is my friend and we are keeping in touch separately. IU has her strengths and I have mine; there is no overlap between us.”

She also stated that “Rather focusing on the fact that I am playing the lead, I simply want to perform well so that I can please the fans of this drama.”
“Trot Lovers” explores the developing romance between two opposite individuals: Popular singer Jang Joon Hyun (Ji Hyun Woo) and impoverished Choi Choon Hee (Jung Eunji), who loves trot music but does not dream of becoming a singer. The first episode will be broadcast at 10 PM on June 23, taking over the time slot previously occupied by “Big Man.

While the first episode of “Trot Lovers” is set to air on June 23, Eunji is already being called “the queen of cuteness” on set.

In recently released pictures, Eunji is seen wearing a sparkly, red dress. Even when the cameras were off, she showed off her cute side.

Eunji plays the role of Choi Chun Hee, who’s a 20-year-old passionate youth that is putting everything she has towards becoming a trot singer.

An official involved with the drama complimented Eunji by saying, “She’s really great at raising the energy of the staff who are tired from working in the heat through her lovely smile. Jung Eun Ji’s loveliness has melted into the Choi Chun Hee character and I believe a more charming trot queen will be born, making me look forward to it even more.”

IU will be releasing a limited edition LP for her recent remake album!

Her album had scored an all-kill on music charts, and to further add-on to the feeling of going back in time, she’ll be releasing the mini album in a limited edition LP! The LP is special because it’ll have “Uhuya Doongi Doongi“, one of the most representative song of the 80′s. The song is originally by the late Geum Soo Hyun, and was reborn under IU’s soft voice.

The LP will be a 180g disc manufactured from Germany’s famous cutting studio SST. The LP will also include a photobook with 12 LP-sized unseen photos of IU.
