Orange Caramel is a sub-group of After School. They are still apart of After School, but just do different songs with only certain members. Groups like Super Junior have done this ‘sub-group’ thing because it allows certain members to showcase their talent without being hidden behind so many other members. It also allows produces to give different styles of music to the same group.

She is also the leader of After School sub-unit Orange Caramel. Raina debuted with the group in November 2009 following the release of the groups second singleRaina was a JYP Entertainment trainee before joining Pledis Entertainment. Before debut Raina was a barista at The Coffee Bean & Tea Leaf, a Korean cafe. She also previously auditioned for Mnet’s Superstar K and was a student at the SM Academy. Raina is considered to be one of the best vocalists among other idol girl groups in South Korea.
Raina officially debuted with the group for the release of their second single, Because of You, which attained #1 on Gaon Chart and won the "triple crown" on SBS Inkigayo. She debuted with After School sub-unit Orange Caramel on June 18, 2010 on KBS Music Bank with the song "Magic Girl". She released her first solo single for the "My Shining Girl" OST in February 2012. Raina has written lyrics for Orange Caramel's "Still..." and "Standing in This Place". Raina also wrote the lyrics for After School's "Love Love Love" and "Timeless".

In 2010, Nana, along with After School members Raina and Lizzy formed a sub-unit called Orange Caramel. They released two mini-albums: "Magic Girl" and "A~ing♡". Nana has then gone on to record a solo song, which is included on the "Shanghai Romance" single, titled "Close Your Eyes". She is also a member of After School's temporary sub-unit A.S. Red together with Kahi, Uee, and Jungah and promoted "In The Night Sky" before debuting in Japan.[better source needed] In 2012, Nana had a solo song included on the After School's Flashback maxi-single, titled "Eyeline".
In 2012 Nana was a runway model for the Tokyo Girls Collection 2012 Spring/Summer. After School's Nana became the main model for Korea's biggest diet brand, Juvis. This is her first solo CF as an After School member. In 2012, she joined K-pop stars Hyorin, Hyuna, Hyoseong, Nicole to form a super group called Dazzling Red. They performed a charity single called "This Person".
