F(x)′s Sulli Decided to Drop Charges Against The Netizen Who Was Spreading False Rumors

On June 11, SM Entertainment said, “We caught the netizen who was spreading false rumors about Sulli this past March. Towards the end of March, we took legal action to protect our artist against the groundless rumors, and we filed a suit for defamation against the one who started it all and anyone related.”

“The person sincerely apologized to Sulli about the false rumors and is in a stage of self-reflection. She regretted her actions and promised never to do anything like it again,” said SM Entertainment. “Seeing that the person was a female student around her age, Sulli requested that favorable arrangements be made, and we decided to respect her request, dropping charges on June 10.”

SM further stated that this instance of dropping charges was an exception, and that they will handle further cases of the sort with a firm legal stance.

“Our retraction of charges for this issue is an exceptional case, and if any other false rumors regarding Sulli continue to spread, we will take care of it sternly,” said SM Entertainment. “Through continuous monitoring, we will firmly deal with any criminal acts that give pain to any of our artists and their families.”

False rumors began to spread last March, after Sulli′s visit to the emergency room due to stomach pain. SM Entertainment confirmed the hospital visit, saying Sulli experienced severe stomach pain caused by stress. However, rumors began to spread on the internet through SNS about the issue, associating it with the rumor about her relationship with Dynamic Duo's Choi Ja.

SM Entertainment decided to take a legal action against Netizens who started spreading the rumor, and member of Sulli's official fan website wrote, "SM Entertainment are collecting datas and materials at the moment. The lawyer told that he needs as much informations as possible."

Netizens left comments, such as "I wonder what kind of rumor that is," "I hope Sulli will not get hurt," and "They are taking an appropriate action."
