After the audition show, she joined her current agency Music K Entertainment and focused on preparing for her solo debut. The music video for her single “Good Bye Rain” was directed by Cha Eun Taek, who also directed the music videos for PSY‘s “Hangover” and Lee Hyori‘s “U Go Girl“.
Through a statement on June 28, Key East stated, "We'd been eyeing Jeon Min Joo since the start of the broadcast. We're happy to have recruited someone like Jeon Min Joo, who has her own unique talents."
Jeon Min Joo said, "I hope many people can fulfill their dreams through 'K-Pop Star' by joining somewhere such as Key East. I'm going to work hard to have great music and an upgraded image."
The agency also released two pictures along with her debut news, but these images have caused suspicions of plastic surgery from netizens who noted her changed appearance from when she was on “K-Pop Star 2.”
The rep stated, “She definitely did not do plastic surgery. She got prettier through maintenance over a long period of time; in addition, as the released pictures are her jacket photos, they have been photoshopped, which must be why people are misunderstanding like that. It can probably be confirmed when seeing her in person… At the time of her participation in SBS survival music program “K-Pop Star 2,” Jeon Min Joo was a 19-year-old high schooler.
